The Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) Program invites students to fill out an online interest form for our 2018 academic course offerings: SOC/WGS 230 and CFE 200. IGD is an educational model that brings together students from diverse backgrounds to engage in deep and meaningful conversation across social identities toward a place of action. Tickets Now On Sale for Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration

Tickets for the 33rd annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration are now on sale. Tickets for Syracuse University students are $15. Tickets are available for purchase in-person at the Carrier Dome Box Office, 900 Irving Ave (Gate B). Students can use cash, credit card, or a meal swipe from their SUper card. Read more at SU News.

Blackboard Ally Available to Help Faculty Make Digital Course Content More Accessible

University faculty members have a new tool for providing students with accessible course documents. Blackboard Ally, an accessibility plugin, will be integrated into all Syracuse University courses in Blackboard starting in the 2018 spring semester. Faculty can request that Ally be turned on in their courses now instead of waiting for the start of the semester. Read more about Blackboard Ally at SU News.

Disability Cultural Center Hosts Poetry Reading

On Thursday, Dec. 7, the Disability Cultural Center (DCC) is hosting a poetry reading in room 228B of Schine Student Center. The reading will take place noon-1 p.m.

Alumnus Kwang Tan, Ph.D., Makes $3.5 Million Gift in Support of Student Health, Wellness and Recreation

A $3.5 million gift from alumnus Kwang Tan G’73, Ph.D., will help ensure Syracuse University students have access to comprehensive health, wellness and recreation services and resources for generations to come. Tan’s gift will support significant renovations to Archbold Gymnasium, which includes the creation of the Barnes Center at  The Arch, a new state-of-the-art, health, wellness and recreation complex.

Information and Communication Technology Accessibility Policy Approved; Work Continues to Enhance Digital Accessibility

Following months of constructive discussion and community input, the Chancellor’s Executive Team has approved a new University policy governing information technology accessibility. The Information and Communication Technology Accessibility Policy—which will be published and go into effect on Jan. 1, 2018—affirms the University’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.
