Victor Cruz to Speak for ‘Truth Be Told’ Series March 27

The Delta Zeta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. will present the sixth annual “Truth Be Told” event, featuring special guest Victor Cruz. To Halt Domestic Violence, Syracuse Students Hear Challenge to Men: ‘Raise the Bar’

Samantha Skaller had a two-word explanation for why she traveled across Syracuse on Monday night to Le Moyne College. She was part of a packed house in Grewen Hall that listened for more than two hours as Jackson Katz—renowned educator, author and filmmaker—made a passionate call for American men to rethink how they can help prevent gender and relationship violence. CFAC’s ‘I, Too, Am America: A Song of Race and Language’ Ends March 25

The exhibition at the Community Folk Art Center, “I, Too, Am America: A Song of Race and Language,” focuses on issues relevant today and in the past. The show features diverse media, including screenprints, mixed-media pieces, photos and personal statements. The show closes March 25 so we extend a warm invitation to all who have not yet stopped in to see it to do so soon. Gallery hours Tues.-Fri.: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sat: 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

Women STEM Leaders to Discuss ‘Hidden Figures,’ Enduring Challenges

On Tuesday, March 28, students studying in the STEM fields and deans from the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Education, the College of Engineering and Computer Science and the School of Information Studies will join 1977 College of Arts and Sciences graduate Dr. Sharon A. Brangman, Distinguished Service Professor of Medicine at Upstate Medical University, to discuss the film, “Hidden Figures,” during a panel discussion following a screening of the film. Screening of ‘Out Here,’ a Film About Queer U.S. Farmers, March 28

Together with a number of Syracuse University programs, Falk College’s Food Studies program is presenting a screening of “Out Here,” a documentary film about the hearts and hard work of queer farmers in the United States, followed by a Q&A session with the filmmaker, Jonah Mossberg, on Tuesday, March 28, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in Heroy Auditorium. Leading By Example: Support the White Ribbon Campaign

The 23rd annual Vera House White Ribbon Campaign is currently underway.  The campaign encourages community members to “Stand With Us” to end domestic and sexual violence.

On March 4, Syracuse University kicked off the campus campaign at the men’s basketball game against Georgia Tech, where students, staff, faculty and Vera House staff collected donations and raised awareness about the campaign.  The campaign continues throughout the month of March.
