Register Now to Participate in C.A.R.E. Dialogue Circles

Syracuse University community members are invited to participate in C.A.R.E. dialogues this semester.  Registration for the fall semester is due by Wednesday, Sept. 21. Conversations About Race and Ethnicity (C.A.R.E.) is a six-week sustained dialogue space for community members of Syracuse University to engage in meaningful, challenging, critical and urgent conversations about race and ethnicity. Nearly 70 years ago, Syracuse University enthusiastically opened its doors to roughly 10,000 veterans, many of whom had just returned home from serving during World War II. Verbal Blend Hosts Spoken Word Programs throughout Fall Semester

Verbal Blend, a spoken word poetry program coordinated by the Office of Multicultural Affairs, is hosting a number of poetry events this semester. Human Rights Film Festival Announces Lineup

The Syracuse University Human Rights Film Festival (SUHRFF) brings an outstanding line-up of critically acclaimed films addressing social justice issues around the globe to Central New York, Sept. 29-Oct. 1. Now in its 14th year, the festival is part of Syracuse Symposium 2016: PLACE and is presented by the SU Humanities Center in the College of Arts & Sciences and the S.I. Syracuse Law to Host Seventh ‘Valor Day’ for Veterans, Service Members, Families

The College of Law will be holding its seventh “Valor Day” event on Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Dineen Hall. Local attorneys, a financial advisor and a career services representative will be providing free legal, financial, career and counseling services for veterans, active duty service members and their immediate families. “Valor Day,” or Veterans’ Advocacy, Law and Outreach, demonstrates how College of Law students are dedicated to giving back to those who served in a tangible, beneficial manner. Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month 2016 Begins Sept. 15

The Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA) will host Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month (LHHM) from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15. The 11th annual program features musical performances, traditional cuisine samplings, dance parties and compelling speakers. This program provides the campus and local community with a great opportunity to reflect on, learn more about and experience the richness of Latino American cultures in our society.
