Sunaina Maira of University of California-Davis will give a talk Thursday, March 24, titled “Inside/Outside: Decolonizing the Settler University.” The talk, which begins at 5 p.m. in Maxwell Auditorium, is part of the College of Arts and Sciences’ Ray Smith Symposium. This year’s symposium theme is “The Future of Graduate Education in the Humanities.”

Sunaina Maira Sunaina Maira A professor of Asian American Studies at UC-Davis, Maira will talk about the issue of inclusion and exclusion on college and university campuses today. She will draw from a critique of the imperial university she developed with Piya Chatterjee in their edited book “The Imperial University: Academic Repression and Scholarly Dissent.”
