LGBT Resource Center Hosts Annual HoliGay, Celebrates Move to Schine

The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Resource Center is hosting the annual HoliGay celebration on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 7 to 10 p.m. at 750 Ostrom Ave. This end-of-the-semester gathering marks an especially meaningful celebration as the LGBT Resource Center prepares to move to the Schine Student Center as part of the building’s planned renovation.

HoliGay is open to all students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members. The event will include cookie decorating, snowflake and decoration creating, a build-your-own hot chocolate bar, card making for the Black and Pink organization, and a cake cutting at 8 p.m.

As a send-off for the semester and 750 Ostrom Ave. location, the LGBT Resource Center is also encouraging everyone to share their favorite memories and photos from 750 Ostrom Ave. on social media and tag the center on Twitter (@SULGBTRC) or Instagram (lgbt_su).

The LGBT Resource Center will temporarily relocate to the fifth floor of E.S. Bird Library beginning in January 2019 in preparation for the move to Schine. The move brings the LGBT Resource Center closer to the center of campus, offers improved physical accessibility, and further enhances inclusion and intersectional work on campus with the eventual co-location of the center, the Disability Cultural Center and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
